Health Benefits of Owning a Dog
There are enormous health benefits of owning a dog, to you, emotionally and physically; as well as to the other members of your family residing in your home.
Emotionally, you can come home at the end of an unusually frustrating and tiring day, feeling as if you’ve been a complete failure at work; only to find that you’re greeted at your door as if you’re the most important human being on earth! Simply your presence brings unbounded joy!
To say the least, having a dog eliminates any feeling even close to loneliness, and brings your self esteem up enormously! You are wanted, needed and adored, simply because of who you are!
If possible, the physical benefits of owning a dog might be greater still!
To begin with, owning a dog will pretty much force you to begin living a more active life, by simply playing with, walking him/her; and basically, just in order to take care of your dog’s basic needs. “Activity” leads to greater cardiovascular health; and the simple act of being loved, often results in lower blood pressure, reduced anxiety, and there is even some evidence that owning a dog reduces the chance of suffering depression!
Simply put – to own a dog is to live life to the fullest!
